Ibanez Phase Tone

18 May 2010 No Comment
Ibanez is known for making many great vintage guitar effects pedals. Many, such as the Ibanez Phase Tone, were made during the 1970s. While Ibanez has reissued some of their devices over the years, there’s nothing quite like a vintage pedal. Note that some Ibanez products were reissued under the Maxon name, but the Phase Toner pt-1000 has yet to be reissued.

The Phase Tone doesn’t have many different controls, making it very simple to operate. The entire device looks like a foot switch—the switch is on the side. It controls the speed, which can be set to slow (.2 to 2.0 hz) or fast (2 to 8 hz). That’s about all there is to this great sounding effects pedal. Finding one of these older devices can be hard, especially if you want to find one for a low price. However, if you do stumble upon a Phase Tone, it’s certainly worth picking up.
