The Durham Electronics Sex Drive Boost/Overdrive Pedal is designed as a clean boost that would supply additional bottom end and sustain when needed. The pedal would have to provide a boost that would not alter the original quality of the amplifiers natural tone. This is the NEW Durham Electronics Mucho Boosto Boost Pedal in the smaller box. The Mucho Boosto pedal is a medium gain overdrive pedal built around the Sex Drive Circuit. The Tone control on the Mucho is much more active than that of the Sex Drive. There are 2 settings for "Thin" and "Fat" voicings. This pedal is great for players that desire a compressed overdriven sound. *NOTE - The new smaller version of the Mucho Boosto has been modified from the old version. The new Mucho Boosto has 100% more Level than the old version, as well as 25% more Gain.

The Durham Sex Drive Clean Boost pedal was originally designed for Charlie Sexton who needed a clean boost with extra low end sustain when needed. So Durham Electronics came up with an ultra-transparent clean boost pedal that has a built in compressor. The Durham Sex Drive features 3 settings of compression (Soft, Hard, and Off) that won't squash the guitar signal. The Sex Drive is completely hand built and hand wired with Teflon wire and full sized Alpha pots. Durham decided against True-Bypass on this pedal (and all their pedals) and opted for a line buffer. This allows the Sex Drive to clean up your tone even when bypassed. The Durham Sex Drive is hands down the most transparent boost pedal on the market today. The line buffer allows the Sex Drive to push signal through a maze of pedals or long cable runs keeping your signal pure. The Compression gives an even feel to the guitar's sustain without squashing the signal. It really is felt more than heard. The Gain knob acts more like a second volume boost than actual overdrive, keeping the signal clean and pure with just a little hair on the edges, perfect for pushing the front end of your amp into overdrive. The Mucho Boosto was based on Durham Electronics infamous Sex Drive circuit, but that's where the similarity ends. The Mucho Boosto was designed to have more gain and less transparency for a powerful overdrive pedal with tons of tone and harmonic content. The compression switch has been forgone in favor of a Thin/Fat switch for voicing the Mucho Boosto to match your guitar. Durham Electronics has forgone true bypass again in favor of their super high quality buffer circuit. The Mucho Boosto will NOT color your tone when bypassed, this is a guarantee. The Durham Electronics Mucho Boosto Overdrive is still very transparent and clear with an overdrive that will make your mouth water. With the Gain all the way down, the Mucho Boosto gives a sweet clean boost much akin to the Sex Drive. When the Gain is turned up, the Mucho Boosto gives sweet, singing overdrive with a violin type tone and slight compression. The Tone knob gives a smooth transition from bright and twangy to dark and moody without getting muffled. The Thin/Fat switch gives a great low-end boost in Fat mode for single coils and backs off in Thin mode for humbuckers and/or hollow bodies.
