Clean distortion is an oxymoron, but I definately recommend the OCD for punk. as for the EQ, the pedal should have a tone control so that you can set that.

Morley Power Wah Boost.
Cliff Burton from Metallica used this pedal.
Listen to his solo Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) on their album Kill 'Em All to hear it in action.

Theres a certain punchy sound some pedals have I dont like. I'm not sure what it is. It's almost like a delayed compression, like you hit the note, then he gain squashes it in an unpleasant way. Sort of a transistor-ish punchiness. I wonder if this is the case with the Fulltone Catalyst

I'd recommend the 1-Spot adapter. It works for everything I've found.

Also yes, adapters are way better than burning through batteries.

You might also want to look at a pedal board some day with onboard-power. Then you don't have to deal with adapters either.

Goddamn. I had one of those back in '83 or so. You can hear it on tracks from Van Halen and Prince. Mine gave up the ghost within a year after I purchased it. Cool for the time but expensive now if you can find a used one. I think d.j.s and people doing experimental music will dig it though.

I prefer a Bigsby cause you dont need it to lock, you'll just have to play better to get the same or better results, that floating bridge crap looks cool but is a pain in the arss

This pedal looks pretty good. I use a Marshall JCM800 or 900 model with a tube screamer as distortion...thats it for amp tone when it comes to effects I believe IM as minimal as they come...just some 350 to 400ms slapback echo and a bit of plate reverb
